Request a joint visit assessment

We at Cura Seating recommend a joint visit with an OT (Occupational therapist) or Physio when having a seating assessment.

This is were one of are seating specialists will identify what chair a client would need to be assessed on, and will bring a suitable demonstration chair out to the client’s home.

The client will have the chair put close to them for an easier transfer.
It is essential that the client sits in the chair for a least an hour.
This will help the specialist to see if any clinical issues arise due to the client’s condition.

The client will be shown how to elevate there legs and recline the back rest.

Depending on the clients condition they will be shown how to transfer by elevating the chair to a standing position.

Once it has been established that the client’s needs have been met, Our Cura specialist will measure the client in a seated position confirming the measurements with the OT or Physio and any other specialist requirements to the clients proposed chair.

If the client still feels comfortable after an hour then the assessment has been successful. This is normally done to see if there are any pressure sore issues.
