The Elevator Chair
The Elevator Due to the Nature of Muscular Dystrophy, the Elevator chair has been designed to help aid a person with its very high flat lift.
The Elevator lift from a 18" floor to seat height to 34" floor to seat height, but will not tilt so the client is able to do there unique transfer Independently.
- This chair has two motors so the footrest is independent to the backrest, which is crucial to the client initial transferring.
- The client would bring the chair back up to it full 90-degree position, as it is very difficult for them to do so.
This will allow them to be in the upright position. - The client then would need to hotch forward to the edge of the seat.
The seat of the Elevator has been made flat with no angle, which is normally a 5-degree angle.
Reason why: The client has to hotch forward towards the edge of the seat before elevating, so by eliminating the seat angle there is no up hill resistance. - Once the client is sitting on the edge of the seat, the chair will elevate vertically with out tilting to substantial height.
This is now slowly allowing the legs into a straight locked leg position.
Now the chair is allowing the client to put weight on their legs reducing the risk of their legs collapsing underneath them. - The Elevator has a basic pressure relief built in as standard. Further pressure relief can be added at a later date on site, reducing any inconvince to the client.
- Additional items can be added to the chair at later date, i.e. EDDAST or a lift up arm for wheel chair transfer, again done on site.
