The Cura Air Chair
The Cura air chair is
the Flagship chair,
The name "CURA" means care in Latin = Care Seating.
This chair was developed to help aid many neurological conditions i.e.
Huntingtons, sereble paulsey, MS, PSP, Parkinsons, Motornerones.
The Cura Air Chair is a battery-powered tilt in space dual.
- The foot rest; can
be elevated by pressing the up and down Red buttons on the hand set which is
located on the left hand side wing.
- The chair's tilt in space
function; can be operated by pressing
blue buttons on the hand set which is located on the left hand side wing.
- The back rest angle; can
be changed by pressing the cream buttons on the hand set which is located on
the left hand side wing.
- The transit position; by
pressing the brown down button on the hand set, the chair will tilt in space
and the foot rest will elevate. Once the chair is fully tilted and patients
safety strap is secure the client can be pushed from room to room.
Because the chair is fully tilted two of the one directional wheels are
now also on the floor helping the to push in a straight line.
- Pushing the chair; you can have
a rear "D" bar
at the back of the chair or two hand grips on the top of the wings.
- Presure Relief; in
the Cura chair we build into the seat our patented air system offering a higher-pressure
relief.
- the tops of the arms inside are covered in memory foam and so are the wings.
- Therasick support; an on site assessment is advised with the aid of a Phisyo therapist.
There are options to fitting a client.
Thoracic blockers
- a wooden saddle for each arm is created and is covered in memory in its raw form (not covered in fabric). This is done for the assessment.
- the client is placed in the chair and the foam is then sculpted around the client giving you an accurate assessment.
- we then leave the client in the chair for an hour to see if the client moves.
- if the client has not moved and appears to be comfortable, then the assessment have been a success.
- once the chair is ordered the blockers will be covered and fitted to the chair.
This method has just allowed us to make the thoracic support more accurately and se that it will work for the client.
- Body cast moulding.
- we bring out a "Blank canvas" (this
a CURA air chair with out any fabric on, so you will be seeing the preliminal
chair in its rawest form).
- we place a body beanbag into the seat.
- Place the client into the seat.
- slowly vacuum the air out of the body beanbag whilst slowly fitting the bag around the client.
- Whilst this is being done, the Phisyo can correct the clients seating position by moulding the bag.
- once the air has been vacuumed out, the client can be hoisted out from the chair leaving their body shape.
- a plaster cast is then taken from the body beanbag.
- the chair will be then taken away and moulded for covering.
This method is the most accurate way of getting the clients body shape.
- Matrix
A similar process can be used to mould Matrix.
Matrix can be used;
- As Thoracic blockers,
- Shaped seats covered in memory foam
- Head supports
- Leg supports.
